Good news this morning as Albert Hammond Jr. has been confirmed as the support act for Franz Ferdinand at Cambridge Corn Exchange on February 23rd, tickets on sale here.
Known for being the lead guitarist of The Strokes but also now a successful solo artist in his own right, Hammond Jr will open for Franz Ferdinand on all 10 of their UK dates in February. The tour coincides with their new album, ‘Always Ascending’ which is out next month.
Hammond’s last record, ‘Momentary Masters’ was released in 2015. It’s a record that reflects upon missed opportunities, choices made, wasted time, and paths not chosen. he music might be largely buoyant with spry, breezy guitar lines locking together and dancing apart, but melancholy frequently seeps into even the sunniest of top lines.
