Breathing the Kite takes place 19th January till 1st March 2017 at Clare Hall, Herschel Road, Cambridge CB3 9AL. Open daily 9.00 – 18.00. The exhibition is a thought provoking blend of art, history memory and politics. The exhibition includes work by Ian Rawlinson, Nicholas Juett, Will Hill and Karen Eng alongside archive material about the Kite.
The Kite is a much loved area of Cambridge, which has been subject to change and controversial developments since it was part of the Cambridge green belt. The area is bounded by East Road, Newmarket Road, Maids Causeway, Short Street, Emmanuel Road, Parker Street and Parkside and was replaced dramatically by the construction of the Grafton Centre in 1981-1983.
