Blossoms are – Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock – a five-piece band from Stockport, who in a relatively short space of time (forming in late 2013) have become one of the hottest live bands on the circuit, performing at festivals including SXSW, The Great Escape, T in the Park, Latitude, Reading & Leeds as well as two shows in Tokyo. Their debut album went to number one in the album charts earlier this summer and on September 26th they’ll play the Cambridge Junction as part of their current tour.
Blossoms have the world at their feet, and have already managed to craft a sound well beyond their years. Creating and playing music as if they are possessed, they smash out the melodies reminiscent of classic psych outfits such as The Zombies, The Doors and 13th Floor Elevators. This isn’t where the depth ends though; they simply take these influences into consideration whilst writing. During the writing process, they go into their studio and craft their trademark sound, adding a more progressive twist; reminiscent of The Coral, Mac Demarco and Smith Westerns. This concoction of sound and skillful songwriting has seen Blossoms, ahem…blossom into one of the hottest prospects in British guitar music.
