Cambridge Folk Festival announces initial line up

Festivals Christy Moore, Gogol Bordello and Imelda May to headline 2016 event

The first names have been revealed for this year’s Cambridge Folk Festival, one of the longest established and most prestigious folk festivals in the world. Tickets are on sale.

An eclectic range of performances will include headliners Christy Moore (Sat), Gogol Bordello (Fri) and Imelda May (Sun). Iconic Irish folk singer Christy Moore in an exclusive English Festival appearance, performing with Declan Sinnott and Jim Higgins. Fellow headliners, high energy Gypsy folk-punk band Gogol Bordello are acclaimed for their live shows whilst rockabilly singer-songwriter Imelda May is a powerful live performer.

Academy Award-winning star of the film Once, Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard in another exclusive English festival appearance whilst American singer-songwriter and multi Grammy Award-winner Mary Chapin Carpenter will also appear.

Other notable names on the bill include the exceptional This Is The Kit, Stick In The Wheel, Will Varley and New Orleans jazz, hip-hop, funk sensations Hot 8 Brass Band.
