The lively meritocracy that is Hammer & Tongue Cambridge returns for a final round, vesting you the audience with the power to send one lucky slammer to the National Finals while the remaining crestfallen contenders are returned home. Held in the coliseum that is Cambridge Junction, the show contains the crème de la crème of the region’s poets all performing for glory.

Contestants are a culmination of 8 months of competitive mayhem, each winner voted for by voluntary judges from the audience over the year’s preceding slams. Think The Voice but without Tom Jones and and not terrible. No props, no tricks, no dancing or singing – all poets made it to the final by the strength of their words alone. It’s going to be a high-octane, high quality show – the most rock’n’roll installment of a particularly rock’n’roll poetry franchise.

The Hammer & Tongue Regional Final is hosted by Fay Roberts and will feature the following poets:

Dan Clark, Tim Knight, Robin Lamboll, Rikki Livermore, Andy Bennett, Uppahar Subba, Kirsten Lees, Afrodita Nikolova and Callu Church.

You can sign up to be a judge or alternately just dive in and enjoy the spectacle. Showtime is set for 7:45pm on Friday 4th September, with tickets priced at £7.50 or £6 concessions. They are available to purchase on the Cambridge Junction website here.
