new music // Emile Bani ‘Ground is a Cloud’

new music Stunning acoustic sessions filmed by Brother Bear in the historical heart of Cambridge.

For the last couple of months, recently-local film company Brother Bear have been investing their not-inconsiderable talents into capturing some of the best of Cambridge’s hidden acoustic greats. As well as big commissions such as this year’s Monomania and e-Luminate Festivals, they’ve bunkered down in The Leper Chapel around once a month to film one cover, one original from groups of buskers they find on the street – and we’re quite pleased they did.

New to us but clearly a seasoned performer, Emile Bani showed up to the sessions with a list of potential covers spanning all the way from Arcade Fire to Celine Dion, finally settling on a cover of Aloe Blacc’s ‘I Need A Dollar’. The resulting performances were mind-bogglingly good, so much so we thought we’d share them with you.

Above you can watch Emile’s original song ‘Ground is a Cloud’, and you can see his cover of ‘I Need a Dollar’ below. For more from Brother Bear, check out the full series of acoustic sessions here.
